4 titanic critters fought for lordship over the earth last night: Gargantis, the radioactive insect, Zorb, the hideous alien occulon, Tomanagi, rampaging cryptosaurian, and Konk, the savage simian.

With Gargantis and Zorb starting out in the western part of the country, Tomanagi rising from the gulf of Mexico, that left Konk with an open buffet of citiscapes in the northeast.

Gargantis and Zorb took an usual tack in targeting military bases and infamy sites rather than focusing on the cities themselves - the national guard beginning to pile up a defensive line around Los Angeles. Tomanagi wandered about the Texas area, picking up the health tidbit here and there while Konk charged into the northeast and laid waste to NYC right off the bat.

Eventually a force of combined Marines, Air Force and Navy cruise missiles began to give Konk a bit of a headache as they made a defensive stand around Boston and the great ape changed tactics and headed inland - on a course towards Detroit.

In the west, Gargantis and Zorb had both mutated several times and between the two of them, had reduced most of the west coast to a burning shell (although Los Angeles was still holding strong with a huge array of National Guard forces).

Before Konk could soak up more easy pickings in the northeast, the Navy used an experimental distortion weapon that drove his hairy butt back into his lair and forced him to emerge in the ravaged mid-west. However, the monster challenge was only a single stomp away by this point.

Zorb was collecting infamy points like they were baseball cards and had a stack of 12 of them by the time that the monster challenge was announced by Konk.

Konk took on Gargantis, the weakest of the critters, and although he started with a health of 33, Gargantis used numerous infamy blows and some helpful mutations (spikes and whip tentacles) to do horrible damage to Konk. Konk barely survived and went on in his weakened state to try and tackle Tomanagi... flipping into Berserk mode, Konk destroyed Tomanagi and then faced the mighty Zorb.

Although Zorb had only 14 health, he was sitting on a pile of 12 infamy points and used every one of them to launch a counter-attack that reduced Konk to 3 health points. In his second round of attacks, Zorb was badly wounded but lashed back and inflicted 4 points on Konk, ending the battle of the monsters... All fear the rage of the mighty ZORB!

Nice report. It might just nudge me toward purchasing the game.
