Is there any place to download the playbooks for CC:E and CC:M? I'm trying to put together a binder of all of the scenarios and I would rather not have to scan them.

The playbooks are intentionally not published online so that you have to buy the game in order to play. All other pieces of the game are published online, so if they added the playbooks you could just play vassal with everything you needed in electronic form.

So I think you are going to be out of luck on this one That is a really good idea though.

Do you you own the games?
send me a pic, I have scanned all my playbooks for all my games. I travel a lot and VASSAL is my conversation avoidance on the plane!

I think CC:E/M share the same rulebook.

Yes, from GMT's Website. As noted above, CC:E and CC:M have the same rulebook.

I should have answered the question as asked and not the one I imagined in my head. Reading comprehension fail.

Sorry, Leon!

I stated up front it was my first game!

Regardless, duly noted and appreciated.

Some of the scenarios in Stalingrad utilize maps and counters and factions that are only in CC:Med. But you can play 7 of the 11 scenarios with just CC:E material.

The Battlepack will have a few additional rules unique to the Stalingrad scenarios, but the base rules will still be the Combat Commander rules.

In case you missed the reference - read (or reread) the red box at the top left of page 3.

If you read enough of the rules questions online, you will see the mantra oft repeated.

Lurking in these forums as often as I have these past few weeks before plunging into the system, I caught it.

But again, thanks for the reminder. The motto bears repeating, and it'll serve me well in the future to internalize the concept more completely.
