BACSIM is a monthly gaming meet in Buffalo that runs the first Saturday of the month (most of the time) at UB. We're trying out a new location this month, with details below. BACSIM is all day open gaming of any and all varieties. Come on by and get some boardgaming in!
Ok, here's the deal.
The APRIL Bacsim meet is going to be meeting at the Saint Marks reception hall. We're going to try this place out as a potential location for some/all future BACSIM meets.
Saturday April 2nd, starting at 10:30 am and going until we leave.
61 Payne Avenue
North Tonawanda, NY 14120
Map -- St Marks http://www.mapquest.com/?version=1.0&hk=7-H7J8
From the 290, you want to get off at the Colvin exit (exit #2).
Turn right at the light. You'll be on the Twin Cities Highway.
After you cross over the second bridge, you should see DeGraff Hospital on your left.
You will want to take a left at the light in front of DeGraff onto Tremont Street.
Go past 4 streets on your right. Just before the 5th street (which is Payne Avenue) you'll see the entrance the the church parking lot on your right. The first door you see from the parking lot will be the entrance to the hall.
From the North, come down the Twin Cities Highway to Tremont and follow the directions, or come down Payne to Tremont and turn left.
The facility: The hall is a nice big room with plenty of tables, padded chairs, a few couches and chairs to rest in, and one or more refrigerators we can keep food in. There are no on site vending machines, so you'll have to bring food in. There are both rectangular and round tables, so we should be able to accommodate any type of game. It's heated, and has electric outlets for your gadgets should you need them. It's all on the same level as the parking lot, so no stairs and no long walk.
If you look at the map of the area, there are restaurants in the area around where Tremont and 384 meet (this is downtown North Tonawanda), some more restaurants are on Payne if you turn right from Tremont and go north. There are a number of fast food joints next to BJ's near where the Twin Cities meets the 290. I'll try to get some more info on restaurants in the area next week.
The deal: Basically we've got the hall all day until we leave. As usual, BACSIM is open to anyone and any game. The church is looking for people to use the hall, and will be advertising our group to their congregation, so we may get people looking in to getting some games in from them as well. No alcohol is allowed, so it's like UB in that respect. We can stay as long as we like, but Joel will need to lock the outside door when he leaves, so we'll need to make sure someone is inside to let you back if you go out. No unsupervised minors please.
