I have played this as both a 2-player and in multi-play, and thoroughly enjoy the game. However, the full 26 turn campaign is a killer on time. Playing just the 3 days of the XXX Corp Breakout Scenario is fun, but totally ignores the first 3 critical days at Nijmegen and Arnhem.

Has anyone played, or planned, a short games for the upper board that could be played in conjunction with the XXX Breakout scenario? In other words, a "First 3-Days" Scenario for a shorter game that would use the whole board, and be playable in 10-12 hours.

Obvioulsy, the airbore landings would all occur as per the campaign game, but the key is establishing the Victory Conditions for the end of the 3rd day for the 2 cities. Even if the upper board and lower board had seperate VCs, then the WIN could be that Allies have to win on BOTH boards to "win" the scenario. The allies winning on one board and losing on the other would be a German "win".

This seems to be an acceptable compromise for those that enjoy all the action on the full board, but can't commit to the campaign. Also, as we often multi-play this with 4, it gives everyone something to strive for (if Allied and you lose your area, your side loses).

Finally, I have seen this published somewhere in the past, maybe some of the old magazines, as a full-board short game variant to expand the Breakout scenario but can no longer find the article.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
