another houserule mentioned in another thread is one I'd certainly recommend:
when rolling to land in a district (for purchase and perhaps only in the first three turns) any district dice roll except "trouble" (e.g. a six) can be adjusted up or down by $10,000 per pip.
this facilitates faster acquisition and avoids overly tedious attempts at getting a district's racket, keeps the game moving
Yep. this is the house rule we play with. We do clarify that this rule only applies in the International settlement which makes trying to purchase factories and warehouses a little more exciting (and allows for the $5k 'rent' to come into play a little more often too.
