Just played Inner Sanctum with a friend. She took tge Professor because she wanted to solve Puzzles. She found the

axe
fairly quickly, but that was her only

weapon
for the rest of the game. I

summoned cultists
in the

ceremony
room until
Spoiler (click to reveal)
there were 3
, turned them

into a shoggoth
in time to

meet
her in the

basement
, and then

kept her there
whilst I

summoned another three cultists
and moved them to

the chapel.
She managed to

evade the Shoggoth
and got to

the chapel
in time to spend 2 turns

attacking the cthonian
with the

axe
before it

killed her
. Then, since it was her first proper whole game, and for humorous effect, I let her choose a new investigator, and on the next(and last) turn, the gangster burst into

the chapel
and let rip with his

tommy gun
. She

killed
the

Cthonian
and it was game over.

I should have won by the proper rules, and it strikes me now that by leaving her alone for a few turns whilst I

moved my second batch of cultists up
and not

attacking more with the shoggoth,
I prevented her from

drawing Tommy earlier
.

Lol i don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played it yet.

I think she should have chosen a more
Spoiler (click to reveal)
combat oriented
investigator for this one. The high amounts of
Spoiler (click to reveal)
cultists
and
Spoiler (click to reveal)
monsters
it throws at the investigators is definitely a difficulty for anyone with
Spoiler (click to reveal)
low dex or strength,
and there aren't a lot of
Spoiler (click to reveal)
weapons
in it.

Maybe she should have gone for
Spoiler (click to reveal)
spell
use, but I also didn't get to
Spoiler (click to reveal)
play any trauma
on her either, so even when I successfully
Spoiler (click to reveal)
horrified
her, it wasn't too hard on her.

I thibk that now, after playing a few scenarios, I'm getting the hang of Keeper strategy. It seems that you can either go for a gradual whittling down of investigators through trauma, or get out the

monsters
and
Spoiler (click to reveal)
attack
!
