Earlier in the night, I cracked out Pirates Cove with my gaming group but after 3 rounds (we were having fun yelling and snarling and laughing), we got kicked out of the cafe we were at.
We packed up and headed home.
Feeling unsatisfied, I forced my partner and another housemate to play.
Now, a 3 player game seems rather dull compared to 4 or 5 players. Less tension. THe three of us kept avoiding the 2 legendary pirates, hopped around collecting treasure and upgrading out ships.
When I decided to take on Charles, he got lucky with his 3 rolls (6, 5, 6) and I got crippled early in the game.
Nonetheless, scores were fairly close. I tried to knock charles out but missed him. Later on, I had to upgrade my ship and chose to do so instead of combating anyone.
As the turns ticked by, treasure dropping got fast and furious.
I took on the Legenday pirate (the females) and beat them in the last round (only just thanks to smokescreen and a grapeshot volley) and got 6 points. Not enough to put me in front.
Charles and Wency tied for top place and I was 2 point behind.
I'll write a review soon.
