Hey guys,
recently moved into a new appartment and thought I need some space for my games.
I came up with the idea of stacking some Ikea Expedit shelves on top of each other...
By the way: the shelves are around 3,80m x 3m (12,5 x 10 feet)

Here you go, still a work in progress:

I'll post some nicer pics once everything is done (could be a month or so)

Hi Simon,

where do you live in? A church?
There seems to be more space till you reach the ceiling.

I would do all the things I have ever dreamed of doing. I would love to become a professional whistler.I'm pretty amazing at it now, but I wanna get, like, even better. Make my living out of it.

So do you need the ladder to get some of the games on the top shelf? If so, then the less interesting games went up there?

I am in the middle of anchoring them - thought I fill it up with some games first
But to add some security: The lower ones are already anchored...

Regarding the height: I bought an appartment in a very old house. I think it's actually close to 100 years old (they couldn't find the documents). Back then they builded nice high walls - what we call here in Germany "Altbau". We are in the middle of renovating everything: this included complete new wiring and so on...

I plan on using a library ladder that I can also move around in the other rooms. I have some more storage room up on the walls - and I guess it will be really cool to have your own library ladder cool
Something like this: http://www.spec-net.com.au/press/0910/images/acc010910_img01...

Oh and back to topic: I can only reach the first 6 shelfs. The last two I can't touch no matter how far I stretch.
About the choice of games: haven't thought about a system yet. But I guess I will spread them out a bit more to fill everything up nicely.

Btw: yay for more room - I can start buying games again laugh

I hope you never find any loose game pieces laying about your home.

...one question, in which shelve could I find the Carcassonne Penguin?

No acrophobia here
I can imagine that it really hurts on this floor stepping on loose game pieces.. last appartment had carpets in it.
Well I am more worried that something drops behind the shelves and gets stuck there - there's a minimal gap behind it.

And for those who have no idea what Michael is talking about:

It was a photoshop I did some years ago laugh

You could set up a rappelling system to get at all your games, like this wine tower in Las Vegas:
