Awful Green Things from Outer Space: The Movie Storyboard, The following is a visual storyboard of an actual game session.

The Voyages of Exploration Ship Znutar.

Our day started off like any other with the Cook preparing breakfast for the crew.

Cook “lets see, how about eggs for breakfast”

But this was no ordinary Egg.

Engineer “AAaaaa Captain Yid, It’s an Awful Green Thing!”

Captain Yid “Attention crew of the Znutar, Our ship has been invaded!”

The battle starts with our Technician and his handy communications beamer.

The Awful Green Thing shrinks to a baby. Not dead but less lethal.

Scan reports show the Awful Green Things filling the center the hallways.

Another scan shows a group of Awful Green Things overrunning the aft bays.

Our trusty robot “Leadfoot” unleashes destruction with the fire extinguisher!

Leadfoot “Oh NO! It just blasted them into fragments!”

Within minutes the fragments grow into many babies.

In a quick search for weapons the Coxswain grabs the gas grenades.

Finally!, We discover the Awful Green Things weakness.

Engineer “Awful Green Thing in corner pocket” Sparks “nice shot!”

Sparks fought bravely but in the end was overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, eggs are hatched in the barracks.

The ships Yeoman is caught off guard.

Captain Yid “You’ll never take this ship!”

Coxswain “Must get to the infected barracks”

Coxswain “Take THAT! You Awful Green Thing!”

Sarge “Why are the wicked so strong!”

“Leadfoot” saves the day destroying the Awful Green Things with an Electric Fence.

Cook “Captain Yid you will be missed”

Leadfoot can't use weapons.

I noticed this when I GeekModded the images, but couldn't say anything until now.

Otherwise this is fun! Sets kind of a high standard for session reports though. I don't think we can all illustrate each game...

I am using the 1990 5th edition rules, the only restrictions I saw about weapons was for the mascot, in the grab weapons section.

Can you tell me where you found that rule?

Yeah, and if you have seen me draw before then I can asure you that you don't want me to illustrate each game. I value this community too much to inflict such cruel and unusual punishment upon you.

I can't find any restriction on Leadfoot using weapons in my 'Pocketbook' plastic clamshell edition - just the mascot.

It's all the cook's fault. Everyone knows Green Thing eggs should be served sunny side up, not poached.
PS re the robot: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/531799/two-quick-rules-quest...

I don't know where I remember that from, I have many editions. The latest edition does NOT prevent the robot from using weapons, along with the other versions mentioned, so I'm mistaken.

Typically it's not a good tactic to have Leadfoot use a weapon because he's so deadly in hand-to-hand combat, so that may be what you're remembering. You usually don't want to give up his melee attack by using a weapon, but I don't think there's ever been a rule against it. The mascot has always been barred from using weapons.

My 1st edition TSR (after Dragon magazine) allows the robot to carry weapons... unless I read the rules wrong all those years ago.

I used to draw comics of my games of "Awful Green Things" a LOT when I was a kid with my TSR edition of it. One thing that game does is create fantastic stories ! Great job on the comic !
