An incomparably cooler theme than that of the former, and hopefully not a ridiculously small board like in the latter.

The only link to both games are the secret movements.

If you have liked Nuns on the Run and Van Helsing, you surely will like Ninja.
If you have liked only one of both, you should try Ninja to compare.
If you have not liked one of them, you must play Ninja as the game experience is completely different.

The board is roughly 2' / 0.6m square.

I think we just trim our whole marketing message to this. Spoken by a big giant head overlooking masses of gamers.

Looking forward to trying Frederics new game. Had a good time when I last met up with him. He even demoëd the Restistance to us. Like the setting of L5R a lot. Really need to get through the rpg core rule book one time.

Does this mean Frederic is now a Brand Manager?

On a serious note...this is definitely one everyone needs to play. Settong, theme, mechanics, fun all rolled into one beautiful package.

How many days till GenCon?

I really like the looks of the board, very cool! I will be watching this game. I did not like Nuns on the Run at all. The concept was good but broken mechanics. I hope this game will work.

Could this game be compared to Letters from Whitechapel? (A great game by the way!)

How are the mechanics broken?

As far as Whitechapel goes...it share the secret movement element with it but it is more than just a cat and mouse game.

The sight distance with Nuns on the Run was too confusing. They included this ruler stick in the game to help but if used it would reveal where you are! Also, sometimes a nun could be seen by a guard in one step of her move, and then the next step in the same move not be seen. This allows for too many mistakes (if a player is not paying 100% attention at that moment.) I just thought the game was terrible, too fiddly, too many possibilities for errors, and like I said, the line of sight rules were awful.

QFT

The only thing they have in common is that you write down your moves on a piece of paper or in the case of ninja on a map.

Kind of like comparing Finca with Shipyard because they both have rondels. The games are polar opposites. While Nuns was fun for a few games I have played almost 20 games of Ninja and it is always something new. Playing as the guards or the ninja or the traitor the game has a lot of strategy and tactics in a very short playtime. If you are looking for games that play more then 4 players then Nuns may be your answer (I actually would recommend Fury of Dracula for a 5 player game but that is just me, and yes even over whitechappel) As for 4 or less This one is awesome and will be sure to entertain you.

In my opinion Nuns on the Run is broken for the reasons I stated above. I don't call games broken just because I don't like them - but if the rules are so fiddly it interrupts the game, then I call it broken. Again, just my opinion. Maybe others don't find the rules fiddly at all.

I have high hopes for Ninja because it looks and sounds awesome. I hope it plays well with two (like Letters from Whitechapel, it actually plays best with two players.) Chris, your comments sound good. Looking forward to this game!
