I have a new A&A variant located here.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/96240/xtreme-glo...

A new strategy to let Germany win in A&A 40 is to change the setup to place major industrial complex in Romania and in Slovakia-Hungary and Norway to mobilize your industrial machine.

Capture Sweden, Norway, and Finland and mobilize all your industry in Scandinavia, then invade Russia from the north and west. You'll swamp Russia in the long run.

If you setup complexes in Norway and Holland-Belgium and play your cards right, you'll beat Britain. You can mobilize easier for an invasion of Britain with all that.

With Germany, it's all about mobilizing your forces.
Change the IC in Germany to a major complex.

Japan must do this.

Change the setup to add ICs in Manchuria and Kiangsu for Japan. Place a airfield in Manchuria and a naval base in Kiangsu to represent the naval base in Shanghai.

Add an airfield to Manchuria.
Global setup goes as follows.
France:
French Indochina,
1 Airbase, 1 naval base, 1 tank, 2 infantry.
Sea zone 89: 1 Aircraft carrier, 1 tactical bomber, 1 fighter.
The French carrier Bearn in the Caribbean was picking off planes in America as France fell in 1940. It was France's only carrier.

The Carrier was in Sea Zone 89 as France fell in 1940.

Have France place one carrier in Sea Zone 89.
Place a battleship, 3 Destroyers in Sea Zone 92 to represent the fleet in Mers el Kebir, that was a sizeable portion of the French Navy in the Mediterranean.

The way I play - you cannot place any new Industrial Complexes and I do not play "major" or "minor" complexes. They are just "Industrial Complexes". I play this way in every version I play, so...

This strategy is useless to me and the group I play with.
