At the risk of violating privacy, here is an email I got this evening from a cousin who dabbles in boardgaming and knows I game quite a bit.

***
Ever heard of any of these?
Mahov (or Mahav?)
Twilight Imperium
Through the Ages

-Steve
***

Never heard of first one, pretty familiar with last two. I googled first one and came up blank, same with bgg. Now I'm wondering if he's got the spelling completely wrong.

My best guess is that he was discussing boardgames with someone who told him this list and he's writing it from memory.

In that case, I think he might have misheard "Le Havre"

Any other guesses out there?

David

Maharaja: The Game of Palace Building in India
or
Maharaja?

Otherwise it's anyone's guess.

Le Harve sort of fits the release dates (2005-2010) of the other two.

From the other 2 games, I'd say it is probably Le Havre, since the list is fairly heavy, well known and highly rated games...

Well, today we get another clue, but only that.

My cousin wrote back:

Those were the favorite board games of "Trumpsc" one of the Starcraft players I watch. Apparently he lives in the bay area and is really into the board game community there.

And that's all I have lol.

I did a google on 'Trumpsc favorite boardgames', but came up short.

Maybe if someone in the bay area knows him, we can solve this mystery lol.

Your cousin could ask him:

It does sound like Le Havre though.

I can't find anything about what games he likes, but he does like The Princess Bride. And Glee.
