1. The resolution order of actions on a turn are as follows:
a) Movement
b) Lucky Toad
c) Fate
d) Movement Related Special Skills
e) Battles
f) End of Turn Special Skills

Movement related special skills include Charging Lariat, Fire Wall, Predatory Stalking, Savage Instincts, Stealth Movement, and Terrify.

2. Any special skills that have a usage of “Anytime during turn”, “Beginning of turn”, or “End of turn” are referring to your turn only and not other people's turns.

3. Range between characters is based on movement, not line of sight. The rules say on page 14: "The range is the number of movement points that it would take for a character to move to land in the space occupied by the opposing character."

4. Characters cannot battle an opposing character that is "safe" in its original starting position. Otherwise there would be too many close range battles as players are attempting to get characters in play. The rules say on page 15: "A character cannot battle an opposing character residing in its original starting position unless the opposing character starts the battle."

Does "original starting position" include starting positions 2, 3 and 4? If you want to avoid close battles when characters are brought on the board, you would want to include all starting positions, not just the "original" one.

Very perceptive Matt. You are correct in your analysis, but the rules are that the character is only safe from attacks in its original starting position. The thought behind this is that it gives players still in their original starting positions a chance to attack and slow down characters that are further advanced through the castle. Also, the further advanced character is respawning in a starting position that is in another player's hostile territory so in theory they should not be safe there. They are only safe in their own territory protected by their King or Queen.
