In USN Plan Orange Battle Scenario 1, if I wanted to push forward a screen of the 5x Clemson Class DD, they would have to remain stacked in a single hex since they are more than four and less than eight ship counters?

I did try it as a stack of five DD and they were engaged by the ten Momi DD (5 counters of two ships), while the CL's and BC swung around at engagement to engage the Richmond, the two fast transports and the gunboat Sacramento. US was eliminated, but destroyed the ten destroyers and got two hull hits on a CL to make it close by points US 52 v. Japan 59.

Thanks,

Pete
