What i like about settlers is.
Player interaction!
that was freakin gorgeous, have a powerful player, and we would target him, or being the powerful player and turning them against each other
this and negotiation are about the same level of awesome. (they are kinda the same thing? idk?)
Negotiation within trades was great too
sheep for wood?
a little more
uhh okay 2 sheep
alright its a possibility
3 sheep!
getting there
Okay my whole freakin hand!
and....
then a city as soon as i have the cards!
deal.
Freakin love it...
Resources, and hand management.
Its all good, nothing too big to add in here, your hand is secret which is nice, keeps your strategy under an invisible blanket
Building and coloniziong, and little wooden cube-ing
Starting out weak and turning into a beast is always killer cubes dont really get me, or even components, but they sure do help.
DIFFERENT WAYS TO WIN
my last game i had 3 cities and bought like 17 development cards, It Was Amazing. 2 victory points, the longest army, and monopolies, hahah
Based of this noobish review, recommend a game for me!, i was thinkin,
cosmic encounter, Battlestar Galactica Saborteur, it seems alittle light, but yeah its a card game.. Yeah i have seafarers, No more! thanks!
I own Power Grid (love it) Settlers (Love it) Carcassone ( yeah...) Dominion (it was good for a while) Bohnanza ( that just went downhill) Pandemic ( one player was just the boss, and it kinda sucked)
Im thinkin like a negotiation game, with traitors and paranoia! all that good stuff would be awesome to add to my collection.
I will be playing with 3 people like ehh 60% of the time, and 4 to 5 people the rest.
i posted this in the General gaming thread, so i decided to move it to here, cause, yeah its kind of a recomendation post.
Thanks!

Cosmic Encounter - Good idea for player interaction and great raplayability.
The Resistance - For paranoia and deception at its finest. Citadels - For intrigue and building a small city.
I don't have much by way of trading games. But two games you should look into are the following:
Chinatown Lords of Vegas
Good luck! Have fun!

Shane always has good suggestions.
I'd throw in the pure negotiation game I'm the Boss!, because I think it's a blast. More streamlined than Chinatown, and maybe easier/cheaper to acquire. Also, Shadows over Camelot as the shorter paranoia/saboteur alternative to Battlestar Galactica. Plus, I don't think BSG is very good with 3 players, whereas SoC can be, imho.

Im diggin these space themes.
and trading game, shmayding game, got to many of those
Right now im thinking between,
Cosmic encounter
and
Battlestar galactia
would it be worth getting BSG even if i play with like 5 people 35 to 40 percent of the time?
and Cosmic encounter just doesnt look bad at all, so replayable, and with Player interaction, unlike dominion, which didnt go so swell
If you were in my situation, which would you pick and why?
but feel free to post whatever you think is good too, but my sights are set on these two like a beast!

If you have exactly 5 that often, then you need Santiago. With 5, it is an awesome negotiation game. Any other number and it's not nearly as good.

Very good ideas. Based on what you love about Settlers, I think we have similar preferences. I could sign your words.
Try Battlestar.
Let me explain it that way: Settlers (and from 1999 onward exclusively "Cities & Knights") was by FAR the most popular game among my friends, be it gamers or non-gamers. Not one single game has ever become close to the same popularity - until Battlestar Galactica appeared. I've now played this with about 20-25 different people, and has been a success almost every time. People tend to chose Battlestar in about 2 of 3 game nights for the last 2 years.
Both are very very social, I think that is why they work for so many people.

Haven't played BSG so can't comment, but Cosmic Encounter is a blast.
Also, if you're looking for a more negotiation/dealmaking aspect, Genoa is hands down my favorite.
Finally, if you're in a co-op mood but don't want one person taking complete control, Space Alert generally has way too much going on for one person to really hijack the group.

I am a huge fan of Cosmic Encounter. I actually played it a lot back in the 90's before Settlers of Catan and it has a lot of elements that yuou say you like. There is a ton of negotiation and politics. My friends and I play Cosmic Encounters because it is great fun to play (not because I want to "win"). With the right group of people this game is a blast. There are a lot of people that will not like it though. It is not a game that you can win by skill.
As for BSG, I have not played it.

Mare Nostrum
Empire building with trading, negotiation and technology (in the form of wonders and heroes). The game does have its flaws but is very good fun!
