I just posted some sample ICE MERP images on this site pending approval but you can view these and additional sample images from the modules at my blog Tales from the Tower here:

http://iguanaslair.blogspot.com/p/game-art.html

I will post additional art there from time to time too in individual blog posts.

I am the original artist Daniel Cruger and just created an account when I stumbled accross the artist description describing my profile and previous work with Iron Crown Enterprises here at Board Game Geek. I made a few corrections to the profile which can be found here:

http://rpggeek.com/rpgartist/13381/daniel-cruger

and added a link to my blog's game art page and uploaded the sample images to this site.

I am the original artist and owner of all of the current copy rights to the artwork. It is posted here for self promotion purposes and can be copied for personal use but please don't use it commercially without my expressed written consent.

Thanks,

Dan Cruger

Welcome to BGG. Your drawings are fantastic--I bought several of the Rolemaster Middle Earth modules at the time.

Here's some GeekGold to get you started.

Hey Dan!

I clicked on the link, saw the art, and thought "Hey, I know the guy who drew those." Then I came back to the site and sure enough I do.

Welcome to the geek!

Hey man, how's it going? Yeah, I'm trying to beef up my internet presence and get back into game graphics since the house plan business has been so slow lately.

If you want to read my entire role playing game history in a nutshell, check out this blog post:

http://iguanaslair.blogspot.com/2011/01/normal-0-false-false...

Its starts in 1977 or 1978, covers the ICE years and then 3.0/3.5 gaming and finally our current game which is Labyrinth Lord by Goblinoid Games. It is a very cool Basic Expert retro clone of B/X D&D which is very similar to what I played when I first started playing D&D. I got tired of all of the feat chains and prestige classes and crap and talked our GM into going old school.

If you haven't heard about the Old School Renaissance, check out some of the blogs linked to from my blog - this is what makes small time module publishing a real possibility these days which has inspired me to get back into that. Admittedly, you probably won't make much money doing it (its more of a hobbyist movement than anything) but its fun. The OSR is a real grass roots back to basics (or even Basic) D&D movement that has taken hold in a small niche market of the RPG industry at the moment and its even gotten WoTC's and Paizo's attention because of a huge internet blog presence. I'm even going to Gen Con this year to drum up some work - are you going?

Check out this blog if you want to see what its all about:

http://underdarkgazette.blogspot.com/

He's probably got the most comprehensive coverage of the OSR at the moment.

Dan

Great stuff, Dan! I recognize a lot of those drawings from my MERP-playing days.

Its been a while since I posted any artwork over at Tales from the Tower but I just added a few new illustrations that I did for ICE's MERP modules for the Palantir Quest and Minas Tirith back in the spring of 1994. These were some of the first illustrations I did for them and you can see the beginnings of my signature style emerging in these drawings. I also did some CAD drawings for both modules and a bunch of other residence plans for Minas Tirith but they aren't as nice as these so I didn't post them. I may post more in the future though.
