This is a recurring question on the M44 forums: Where is summary card X and what is it?!?!

Summary cards were introduced in Memoir '44: Air Pack for all existing Terrain, Actions, Nations, Troop types, and new mechanics such as Airplanes and Air Rules. As new components were introduced, Summary cards weren't always issued in the expansion that contained the pieces. It just wasn't practical for DOW to put one or two cards into an expansion. So certain expansions gathered these up and included them with other cards. Those expansions were Memoir '44: Sword of Stalingrad, Memoir '44: Campaign Book Volume 1, Memoir '44: Winter Wars, and most recently, Memoir '44: Equipment Pack.

Below is the complete manifest of the Summary cards and in which expansion they can be found. Please note that several of the more recent expansions have duplicated some cards found in other expansions. The most recent expansion, Equipment Pack, adds 25 new cards of which only 6 are brand new, and 4 revised.

Re: Summary Card Manifest
Brian,

This is a tremendous piece of work an should be pinned into the favourites af all who play Memoir'44. Knowing Brian, he will also update it as new expansions are published. The Card #20 mystery has also been solved for me, although unfortunately not before I had spent a frantic night looking for it!

Regards,

Jim

Re: Summary Card Manifest
Thanks, Brian. Earlier today I thought I'd open the still shrink wrapped cards in my already opened Air Pack box to see which cards were in there and WOW! All this time... mercy!

I was given the Air Pack as a gift a year ago but haven't played it yet as I wanted to get through the base scenarios first. Just recently used some of the winter (hill) tiles for the first Eastern Front scenario a couple of times.

Thanks for putting this together... book marked.

meeple Keep playing...

And for those that may not have all the required expansions to get the Summary Cards...

They can be found on the DoW website under the M44 page.

Great job Brian yet again.

And they are included in the VASSAL module as well, including the ones still missing on the DoW website.

Re: Summary Card Manifest
Are you sure that Troop Card #20 isn't Mobile Artillery (Duplicate). If the numbering follows the pattern of the Action and SPA cards, then it is perfectly logical that Troop Card 20 should be Mobile Artillery since that unit was mentioned in Winter Wars' rule book. If that isn't the case, then I believe that your Troop Card 18 – Half-Tracks and Troop Card 19 – Long-Range Patrol Cars should read "Disaster at Dieppe" rather than "Winter Wars" to keep all units of the same expansion together.

Where did this complex list come from anyway? How do you know the numbering of cards that have not yet been released in some form (i.e. in the Battle Maps rules)?

Mobile artillery is #14. #18 and #19 are assigned to Winter Wars because that is the expansion that included these cards. Even though Disaster at Dieppe introduced the units, this Battle Map did not include any cards. I assume you do not own all Memoir '44 expansions, in particular Winter Wars?

Disaster at Dieppe introduced the Half-tracks and the Long-Range Patrol Cars, but the physical cards didn't come with it. The actual cards came in Winter Wars.

Edit: And I was beat to the punch.

Re: Summary Card Manifest
No, I don't own Winter Wars yet. I was checking the inventory for that game online a few nights ago and couldn't find anywhere where it said the expansion included Troop cards. I guess it does. That explains the numbering, then, though I still feel that the numbers origin is more important than the literal printing of the cards. Indeed, both are important. But since Winter Wars is the most recent expansion, I now understand why Troop Card #20 is still counted as skipped. Strange that Days of Wonder did that. I wonder if they made a mistake...

From the cards in hand. I own all the expansions and put together the list with what I physically saw - there is no guess work. As the intro remarks note, DOW didn't include cards every time a unit was introduced but instead collected them every few expansions and published them with other cards.

As to card 20's mysterious exclusion, it is well noted it does not exist. Most likely it was for a planned unit that got pulled last minute but they already had the other cards assigned and/or published. Or thhey made a mistake and either skipped or duplicated something that already had. Whatever the case, it isn't published.

That is why it doesn't make sense to you. Pieces – especially cards – are spread around different expansions. If you buy all expansions then you have everything, and it doesn't really matter anymore what came from where. If you don't own all of them, it's head-scratchingly confusing.

Given that most of these cards were released with the now OOP Air Pack, and what a great aid they are, I'm very surprised that DoW haven't release these cards as Print-on-demand.

Or have I missed a link somewhere?

DOW has said they would not rerelease the Air pack but would make them available elsewhere. The assumption is they will release the cards again in the future, either as a separate deck or part of some other expansion.

With the OOP issue, seems to be the most reasonable option nowadays. Hopefully DoW will market the summary cards in the near future.

Bah. I own all the expansions, and sought out this thread to find out why I had gaps... Of all the expansions, it turns out to be my campaign book #1 that was incomplete (didn't come with any cards)...

At least its nice to know why (and about the mysterious troop #20). Thanks for the list!

I'd contact DoW and see if they still have replacements.

Not sure what is coming with the Equipment Pack with its 25 cards. Assuming duplicates of only those units present and whatever is new. Doubt there will be much reprinted from CBv1 in the EP.

I'd expect the summary cards to cover the units and nations in equipment pack.

For some of us - who already have the units from other expansions - some of the cards will be duplicates.

Their reply:

"The Campaign Book does not come with Summary Cards."

So much for that yuk

Edit: The 2nd email I sent with the info ColtsFan76 posted was more prodcutive, and replacements are on the way

I would try again. Not sure who responded to you but their help has been spotty. If you get the "lady" she has mostly been rude and ill-informed over the years. You can direct them to their own webpage:

http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/en/content/cb1_inside/?...

and

http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/en/content/cb1/

Especially this picture, 5th bullet point, which they so conveniently magnified for you at this particular moment:

And if still lost, direct them here:

What I meant was, I believe it to be specific to just the Equipment pack instead of the "replacement" for Air Pack to get our all the summary cards. Seems like it would have been the place to do it. Nice big box. Equipment focus.

But since they are duplicating all the Battle Map figures, all the Battle Map cards that pertain to units will be in there. I just don't see it extending to CBv1. So Matt is probably SoL.
