Orange = Approach has no penalties.
Cyan = Approach has penalty on at least one side.
Purple = Approach is obstructed on at least one side.
Dotted Line = Approach is NOT crossed by a road.

EDIT: Fixed multiple approaches.

Very cool graphic! It would also be interesting to see one with coloring for approaches with infantry penalties, one for approaches with cavalry penalties, one with artillery penalties.

If you're in the mood to make more maps

I love this map. It brings out the terrain. The first time I play NT I completely missed the impassable terrain, and had St. Hilaire's back against a whole patch of impassable terrain in the middle.

Now I'm going to burn your map into my brain. robot

Thank you very much for this awesome graphic.

I can see now that :
1/ obstructed terrain is almost always around towns/villages. Usefull to prevent the defense of such locales by cavalry.

2/ impassable terrain is around lakes and follow rivers (not color coded, right ?)

3/ approaches without penalties are almost always in open terrain. Usefull to see where to attack and defend (or not).

With the attack routing superimposed, it helps to see the "corridors".
