Likewise. It's shorter and gentler than the other maps, while at the same time not deviating from the standard rules by too much.

I'd have gone with Germany, but Benelux works.

Which map should I use to teach if I don't own Benelux?

To be fair, you can teach with any board, so don't worry too much. But I still think the original German board is probably the fairest.

Ooh a little higher, now a bit to the left, a little more, a little more, just a bit more. Oooh yes, that's the spot!

Given that all expansion maps have variations from the original rules, I would say teach using Germany or USA (assuming you have the standard set, not Mégawatts etc.).

It is better that the players learn the base rules first and then can be introduced to the variations provided by the expansion maps. Personally I would go with Germany, but that's personal preference, from a rules perspective they are identical.

with the normal maps, overall USA is cheaper and easier then Germany.
especially if you select the eastern most areas.

Germany has a more expensive layout and also more hazard/choke points to deal with.

Benelux is overall a cheaper board, and it cycles faster through the plants.

So best: Benelux
next East USA
