When a search or thread has multiple pages it is very cumbersome to navigate to the middle portion of the list of pages.

For instance, a thread may have 200+ pages which are listed in alphabetical order. If I am interest in the pages starting with J I have to click on the page marker 5, then I can click the 7 and only progress two pages at a time. Even if I know that I want to start at about page 40.

Is there a simple way to navigate to page 40?

For a thread, the page number is normally at the end of the url, eg:

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/315709/feel-the-love-free-thumbs-gg-to-be-had-for-all/page/3692

By changing that page number you can go to any particular one.

It also works for geeklists:

http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/69891/your-thrift-store-bargain-finds-18-24-july-201/page/5

Doesn't apply for searches though, so can't help you there. Hopefully someone else can!

EDIT: Used Walt's fancy techniques to disable the URLs so they show properly

Once you start moving pages, it does work for a game search. For example I searched for all games with "game" in the title, and page 5 is:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/search/boardgame/page/5?q=game&B1=Go

I've prevented BGG from seeing this as a link so it doesn't truncate the URL. Another example is all people with US flags:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/browser.php?itemtype=flag&country=United+States&pageID=5

The first page of a search is a bit strange, so click to another page, then adjust the URL. I expect this will change when the oft-rumored UI revision occurs.
