I've just recently gotten back into playing RoboRally, and noticed that this game has a much larger web presence than I previously realized.

I was wondering, just for fun: what are your favorite RoboRally boards?

I played Pit Row for the first time yesterday, I thought that was pretty fun; I'll have to do a little more playing before I declare a 'favorite board' however.

Also, are there any that you think play well with 2? I do most of my board gaming with my wife.

I'm fond of Cannery Row. Timing that belt so you don't get smashed by the crushers is wonderfully challenging.

I really like Flood Zone from Armed and Dangerous; the slower movement makes for more bottlenecks and combat. Laser Maze from A&D and Blast Furnace from Crash and Burn are nice, too.

I have created a RR-board for myself, where the shape looks like a C with holes in the middle. When placing the checkpoints

+-------------+
5 3
xxx 1
xxxxxxxxx
xx
4 xx
2 S
+-------------+

like this, where "S" is the starting point, you'll meet the others always.

Why is there no Word Games Forum or Subdomain?

There should be a Word Games Subdomain, or at least a Word Games Forum!

Now all you need is 8 players on that board and you've got a game!

I've had a lot of fun with Circuit Break and Laser Maze, due to them being hellishly difficult.

The thread title doesn't specify, so does anyone have any favorite unofficial boards?

I'm thinking of printing off a couple, maybe starting with Mimicry Mirrors:

Actually, that one may be official in a way, as supposedly it was released as a promo in a German magazine.

I also have been thinking about printing the board "Sponge Zone" originally from Roborally.com. This version is from:

http://tartarus.org/gareth/roborally/boards/all

As for official boards, I like a mix ... fast transitional board like Machine Shop in the middle, possibly a radioactive board for the second flag, maybe a clunky ride down into the Colosseum for the finale.

A couple of the boards that came with the base Avalon Hill edition were too boring and/or uninteresting for my tastes, i.e. Spin Zone and the Vault, uninspired.
