I have ordered my first pre-order game and it has now reached its P*** number. The company in question says that when the game goes to the printers I will be charged. 6 weeks have passed and still nothing. How long do pre orders usually take to arrive? The company is only small and has up to date only produced about half a dozen games so this may mean they have longer production times. The trouble is after I pre ordered the game I wanted to play it there and then and then there was a great factual programme about this very battle that the game portrays and I just wanted my game!!!

So how long do pre orders usually take to arrive?

Have you already been charged? A game can reach its p500 (or whatever number it needed) and still take months (or even years) until it actually gets printed. However, it has been my experience from pre-ordering from companies that once you're charged its a relatively short time until the game will be shipped.

If you haven't been charged yet, I wouldn't hold my breath and would plan on playing something else for the time being...

GMT is very good at putting out estimates on
how long before something will be printed.
They may be off, but it gives you some idea.

I don't recall as well with DG (dealt with them less)
and they're the only companies I've preordered from.

The best bet is to look at company newsletters and web site,
and see what information there is. Consim's forum is probably
a good guess too.

The game is Phantom Fury by Nuts publishing. In the very short time I have posted this question I have received a reply in the game page forum which states a delivery date, which was posted on CSW. About 7 weeks time, at least having a date in my head I can now relax a little more.

Decision Games - era

Clash of Arms - century

MMP - generation

GMT - damn, that's a lot of kittens....and look, she's squeezing out more!

I am waiting for the same pre-order too. But we have to be patient and understanding. After all they are French, you know...

You mean you have to wait for them to lose the order,
and hope someone else delivers it for them?

I'm just happy my copy of Axis Empires: Dai Senso! finally
shipped - had these fears I would JUST be stuck with
Totaler Krieg.

For those curious about the answer:

Per the Nuts Publishing Newsletter I received in my email yesterday, Phantom Fury is due to ship around September 15th. They also have stated this on CSW as well.

http://talk.consimworld.com/WebX?14@257.W9mmc71szYR.58@.1dd5...

You can still pre-order at the reduced price until September 4th.

You left out GR/D. Since it's now well past 10 years since the promised release of Total War they may have the longest record of them all. Never!

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt...geological

That seems more appropriate for MMP.
