That's what it sounds like to me. This dude Friedemann needs to find a new schtick.

Or....more fun Power Grid?

Especially since it's much more likely to share elements with Power Grid considering he was the designer..

The basic mechanics are the same as Power Grid, but in a condensed package.

Exactly. The only thing it seems to share with Stone Age is the theme. I'm interested in it because I've always been interested in Power Grid but can't pull the trigger because of my gaming group. Hopefully, this will fit in nicely...

Your opinion is as important, both to this thread and in general, as that of a slug's...with the salt.

I disagree... because disagreeing here would seem to be either absurdly relevant or irrelevant to this thread and your reply.

Suddenly a shot rang out! A door slammed. The maid screamed. Suddenly a pirate ship appeared on the horizon! While millions of people were starving, the king lived in luxury. Meanwhile, on a small farm in Kansas, a boy was growing up.

Strangely, this actually sounds like a dramatically better thematic fit for the basic mechanical structure of Power Grid.

I like your picture there and Black Adder fandom but Power Grid is tight. My group loves it.

I have almost all power grid stuff now. We even have Factory Manager which really is a different game and very cool too.

I also have Stone Age but my group doesn't really care for it. So if this new "Stone Age 'Power' Grid" is good, fast, and fun then I'm pretty sure it'll be replacing Stone Age in my group.

Our issues with Stone Age are probably due to not having played it enough but in our house one strategy seems overly dominant (lots of wood and lots of cards).

Though I did hear that a new Stone Age thingy is coming out to expand it so that might improve the game for us.

In either case I bet we'll get this new Power Grid game and love it and Stone Age will likely keep gathering dust even with an expansion.

If this game can capture the good parts of Power Grid, and reduce game time. Well I am all in. The only problem I have with Power Grid is that the last two turns take as long as the rest of the game. So if this new "version" can cut down on end game length then I am all for it.

I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this
country with being sick and tired. I'm certainly not! And I'm sick and tired of being told that I am

Cue scene from "Cable Guy" when he starts talking about friends fighting to the death in the medieval arena.

Either way I'm likely to buy it as I'm now a Power Grid geek.
