Does the game end immediately when the last stage of the quest is completed? If it is so, it seems quite easy to just put every single character questing in the last stage of Escape from Dol Guldur quest (if the Nazgûl has already been dealt with).

We played it so that the last round has to be completed before winning so the engaged creatures can attack and so on. The game hasn't been too hard with that rule, so maybe we're sticking with it even if it's not the right way.

Immediately, just as you go to the next stage immediately upon completing the previous one.

Yep, as soon as you fulfill the requirements of the final stage of the scenario, you win. It doesn't matter what the game state looks like at the time as long as all the win-requirements have been fulfilled.

Though it seems odd being able to win with several engaged enemies.

It creates some dramatic "last minute escape" situations though - like tapping all your characters and hoping this will be enough to complete the last stage and get out of a hopeless fight. All our wins in "Escape from Dol Guldur" were like this...

You're complaining about winning Dol Guldur ? wow

BTW why is Dol Guldur so hard to spell - have to check every time I type it.

I've considered playing this way. The game is becoming too easy as it is. Usually we can generate 30+ willpower between two players on a final turn by questing everyone, so the "last minute escape" doesn't seem very dramatic.

For what it's worth, I have worded the victory condition on the latest quest I am writing as "you win at the end of the turn when you kill the bad guy and there are no other enemies engaged", to avoid exactly this sort of problem (it's much easier to win if you don't have to survive)...

I may well introduce "win only at the end of a turn" as a house rule.
