I was listening to The Spiel today and heard an interview from GenCon with a WizKids suit. He mentiond the first expansion is due in October, and will include new dice as well as cards for existing dice. He also mentioned a new mechanic that would allow a player to put dice into an opponent's dice pool.

I'm very excited for this.

October, really? That sounds like the AEG school of fast expansions. I hope any new expansion has a good storage solution, the base games is well thought out and it would be a shame to have to move the components into something less appealing to be practical.

Actually, it may have been November. This year, definitely. I imagine they had expansions planned from the get-go.

I think we can be happy that the expansion's not named 'Rise of the Quemons' ... ^.^

No, really looking forward to the expansion. Perhaps it will be ready for Essen 2011??

If you dispense with the original baggies, you could probably store twice as many dice in the original box. If you took out the insert, it would be even more (though that would make it a very loud box of dice).

It's the cards though that would be the issue not the dice.

4x5 dice and only 19 new cards? I had hoped for some more cards to boost the old dice sets.

I don't think it's 4 sets of 5 dice. Basic Quiddity Corruption is a basic. Very possibly more dice in that pool. I'm thinking ~10 of those, 1 card for them, 2 sets of 5 dice each with 4 cards and a fourth card for each existing set.

Or something similar.

From the photo, the dice look like shiny black with radioactive green for the spell, dull black and radioactive green for the creature and light grey and radioactive green for the corruption quiddity. I was hoping for a bit more color, but I'll take them.

If you do some of the math, the best breakdown that i can come up with is this

20 Dice:
10 Corrupted Quiddity
5 Demonic Overlords
5 Corruption Spells

19 Cards:
1 Corrupted Quiddity
3 Demonic Overlords
5 Corruption Spells
10 new versions of the original 10 Creatures

That's the best that I can come up with.

I think 4 and 4, so all creatures end up with 4.

I had a guide, a Bedouin man, who called me 'Abu el Banat'. And whenever we'd meet another Bedouin, he'd introduce me as Abu el Banat. And the Bedouin would laugh and laugh and offer me a Pint of beer. (cont below)

And I'd go to pay them for the beer and they wouldn't let me. "Abu el Banat" means "father of daughters." They thought the beer was the least they could do.

Curious why you feel that way? 20 new dice 19 new cards. Then strength of the expansions lies in the fact that you can use the same dice on new cards.

I would personally like to see staggered smaller expansions. It allows me to game with a smaller new set and tehn be ready for another expansion in say 6-12 months.

Just my

im actually glad that there isnt a ton of new die...i mean i would buy it if it had a ton of die too but im glad theres only 20 because chances are minimal die will keep the price of the expansion down.

Am I the only one who has noted that one of the faces on the Demonic Overlord has: 4 , * , 10attack, and 7 defense?

Hopefully there is some drawback like a low glory scoring. Otherwise without any additional capture option that will most likely simply replace the dragon as what you buy when you have a high quiddity roll.

I'm excited to see them expanding on this great game. I am a bit concerned though that anything they add will just slip into the current problem of I rolled X quiddity so I guess I have to buy the creature that costs X rather than actually add any new strategy. But hopefully some previews will prove me wrong! Prehaps a basic + buy die will even be included, who knows.
