Anyone thought of using Jenga pieces to allow the skeleton archers to fire from cover? In a nice sideways H formation? The pieces are under an inch wide so you could place the missile in front of the 'barrier' making a hard but doable shot. The players can storm the open ends or cause 'battle damage' with a melee or fireball shot, Sacrifice summoned skele.

Anything to spice up the easier encounters with undead.

All arrow shots have to be started from within 1" (2.5 cm) of the disc making the shot. So it's relatively easy to plant skeleton archers behind the gray obstacle discs while placing the start point of fire shots around the edge of the obstacle disc and have a clear shot on the adventurers.

I only do this if the adventurers are doing well. Well defended "Gun turret" skeleton archers hailing long-shot missiles across the board are pretty hard to take out.

We use that in ALL our games for now, but that tactic it's not exclusive for the skeletons; The Elf and Wizard can do it as well (even the Barbarian with the throwing axe).

We find it nice, it represents shooters firing exiting from cover an hiding again.
