I've seen quite a few questions pop up about the timing for things. While looking at the back page of the rule book, I thought I'd expand it out in hopes that it'll help. Of course, being the forum, it'll only be text, but maybe sometime I'll get around to making a "Prettier" one. If I have made any mistakes please let me know so that I can correct them. This is my understanding of when Powers for Player Boards become active and when you can spend Neutral Power Tokens during the turn.

Key:
Larger Bold Print = Direct from Turn Sequence on the back of the rulebook.
Smaller Print = When powers can be used either as a Player or from using Power Tokens
Colored Background = Taoist Power matching color Yellow, Red, Blue, Green
White Moon

Re: Extended Timing Flow Chart
Just from a cursory glance, the blue player is allowed to use his/her power after taking an action.

And why say use neutral power token at the very end if you are not allowed to use powers at that point?

Also, it might also be useful to expand this for White Moon.

That is correct - the designer has confirmed it.

Right, I know, I was just stating that it's "active" at that point. I'll change it though to reflect that.

The bigger bold letters are pretty much a direct copy from the flow chart on the back of the rulebook which has the icons that you can use Power Tokens there. Of course there is no current power that can use them there, perhaps the designer put them there for future expansion?

Will do that, just wanted to get base game down first.

Re: Extended Timing Flow Chart
Changed the position of blue, added green's powers twice for when you can use a power token, and added in White Moon stuff.... How does it look?

Re: Extended Timing Flow Chart
I feel like there are some subtleties missing from the flow, but I'm too tired right now to think about it.

I guess one thing that just popped into mind is what happens if you have the Boots of the Ma-Cho, because then you are not strictly following the chart's flow anymore.

Wow, I completely forgot about the artifacts. (I haven't actually played with White Moon expansion yet).

They've been added now.

Another White Moon thing: each time you request help from the Kung Fu School you can spend a neutral power token to target ghosts of a neutral board's colour, provided that neutral board's power is not inactive.

Just to show that you can still use the Life Potion there since the rules state at any time during your Yang phase you can use it, so it's listed after everything.
