She have strategy when you shuffle card obsequiously. She make nail-biting at pancreatic moment. Look you at last game I play: I make Ace, he make Ace. I make King, he make King. I make Queen, he make Queen. Last one card decide game. I make Prince, he make Ten! I win WAR! (And nail grow back so can I play again!cry)

Love this bit.

Calling to mind the girth of some board gamers I've met, I imagine a fleshy "ship o' the line," heaving into the gaming session, churning up a frothy olfactory wake, bearing colors of many conventions past, scarred from battle, and wearing the remains of yesterday's breakfast.

Very evocative. This short lived, but amusing meme, has produced some very memorable prose.

"When the stranger heaves into view, let loose the dogs of WAR."

All of these joke threads taking up the valuable BGG forum space have got me upset. So much that I'm giving up wargaming in favor of a new hobby, extreme couponing.

From counter clipping to coupon clipping, an ex-wargamer's descent into madness and despair.

Coming soon to a theater near you.

Cutting up your rulebooks in disgust/protest would have the same effect.
