As a novice to all this please bear with me if this has been previously covered.
An additional rule we play by is if you overshot a corner ,
Once you have paid all the normal penalties ie tyre wear etc
We check to see if you have skidded ,run wide , missed a gear etc with a quick roll of the black dice.
The cost is you drop down 2 gears on your gearshift ie if your in 5th gear you'd drop 2 gears to 3rd and thats the gear you move in on you next move/turn /go.
The penalty is the same regardless of how many spaces overshot but the more you have overshot the more chance you have of falling foul of this rule..
Penting how many spaces you've overshot we add 2 for each overshot space..
Overshoot by 1 space = 2 : overshoot by 2 spaces = 4 :overshoot by 3 spaces = 6 and so on.
So even if you have tyres to burn you can come unstuck.
One other little thing which I'm sure will have been mentioned, we use a tiny bit of blue tack / white tack to keep the debris marker in place ..
