I wrote some rules for using minifigures if you have enough.

Your hit points are represented by left hand, right hand, pair of legs, and head.
Players without legs have -1 move.
Players without a head can only move in a straight line on their turn.

Players can do an attack roll at the end of their move, if they want and have an enemy in range. The attack roll now works like this:

Heroica - Attack with weapons on both hands.
Sword - Attack with weapon on right hand.
Sword+Skull - Attack with weapon on left hand.
Skull - Miss.

The enemy that is attacked can do a counter-attack. On these rolls, X is the enemy's strength:

Heroica - X damage if adjacent: otherwise, move any number of squares to reach player, and deal 1 damage if now adjacent.
Sword - X damage if adjacent: otherwise, move 1 square towards player, and deal 1 damage if now adjacent.
Sword+Skull - 1 damage if adjacent.
Skull - Miss.

Weapons do the following damage:

Stub - damage 1, range 1
Fist - damage 2, range 1

Knife - damage 2, range 1, on kill: +1 gold
Curled Staff - damage 2, range 1, on kill: +1 health
Axe - damage 3, range 1, on kill: roll another attack
Sword - damage 3, range 1 + rush 2 (if you attack with this, move up to two squares before hitting)
Bow - damage 2, range 5 (straight)
Orb Staff - damage 2, range 3 (curved)

Spear - damage 2, range 2, can be thrown (range 5 straight, drops weapon)
Hatchet - damage 3, range 1, can be thrown (range 5 straight, drops weapon)
Katana - damage 3, range 1, on kill: can move again
Cutlass - damage 3, range 1, -1 damage if used to attack
Whip - damage 1, range 3 (straight). Attack can manipulate objects and catch items.

Lance - damage 3, range 2 + rush 2, can't be used at range 1
Halberd - damage 3, range 2, two-handed weapon
Crossbow - damage 3, range 5 (straight), two-handed weapon, can't move more than 1 square before using

Yes because it's so easy to pull off the arms and legs and then put them back in with ease.

I may have misspoken. I meant left hand, right hand, both legs at once, head (in any order you'd like). Arm joints stay on, legs stay connected to the groinal bit.

I started using minifigures to go along with the "character sheet" from the original game. I use them mainly as a weapons/armor display that allows for many different pieces of equipment to be put in the game for leveling, rewards, etc.
