I recently purchased AH and began to solo it but found the rulebook somewhat disjointed (what FF rulebook isn't? Hahahaha) I compacted just the basic AH revised rulebook Turn Summaries (no expansions, just trying to figure out the base game first) and a couple things from the latest FAQ, but still have a question.

Here is my turn summary sheet:

Phase I: Upkeep (p. 6)
A. Refresh exhausted cards (if any)
B. Perform upkeep actions (if any)
C. Adjust skills (focus)

Phase II: Movement (6, 8)
-If delayed, stand up
A. Arkham
-If leaving/ending movement in monster occupied area investigator must fight or
evade each monster token present; if any combat ensues, movement ends
Exception: For one turn only an investigator just returned from a successful
Other World encounter does not need to evade or combat monster(s) in gate area
(Monsters Guarding Gates p. 18)
-Pick up clues only if movement ends in a clue area; DO NOT pick up clues if just
“passing through”
B. Other World (p. 8)
-If in 1st area, move to 2nd
-If in 2nd area, return to matching gate in Arkham (example: if located in Abyss
Other World, return to any available Arkham Abyss gate) and place explored gate
marker underneath investigator
-If unable to return to matching gate (ie. matching gate(s) closed), place
investigator in “Lost in Time and Space” area
C. Lost in Time and Space (p. 17)
-Investigator delayed (miss one turn), then following Upkeep phase (after standing
up) may re-enter Arkham board on any street or location (player’s choice)

Phase III: Arkham Encounters (p. 8, 9)
-Not applied if in Street or Other World area
A. No Gate Present: Draw a location card OR use location special ability (if applicable)
-Monsters and gates cannot recur in sealed locations (disregard even if directed by
card text)
-If location card states “monster attacks”: either battle for trophy (p. 22/FAQ) or
return to monster cup if avoided/not defeated
B. Gate Present: Investigator is drawn through gate to matching Other World
Exception: Investigator has acquired an explored gate token and may attempt to
close and seal gate (p. 17-18) as long as investigator does not leave location-
otherwise, lose explored gate token and investigator must re-enter to close
C. If investigator is drawn through gate by encounter (card), investigator enters Other
World delayed

Phase IV: Other World Encounters:
A. Draw cards from Other World deck until a color match is made between
investigator’s Other World location color(s) and card border color, discarding
unmatched colors to bottom of deck
B. Perform location or “Other” directions
-If Other World card states “monster attacks”: either battle for trophy (p. 22) or
return to monster cup if avoided or not defeated

Phase V: Mythos (p. 9) Also used in step 14 of game set-up
A. Open Gate and Spawn Monster (Lower left corner for gate and monster location)
1. If location has elder sign: Ignore
2. If location has open gate: Monster surge
a. Monsters placed equals number of open gates or number of players (whichever
is greater)
b. Monsters should be evenly distributed among gates with more going to Mythos
gate drawn (if not evenly distributable) OR outskirts if monster limit exceeded
(players choose distribution before picking monsters)
3. No elder Sign or gate: Gate opens and monster appears (following these steps in
order (p. 9-10)
a. Advance doom track one space-If last doom track space is filled Ancient
One awakens (p. 20)
b. Gate opens-Discard any clues present back to reserve pile
c. Monster appears either in gate just drawn or outskirts if monster level
exceeded Note: If playing with 5+ investigators, place two monsters
4. If gate opens on investigator, place investigator in corresponding 1st Other
World area, delayed

B. Place clue token on location indicated by Mythos card
C. Move monsters as indicated-bottom right card) corner (p. 10-11)
D. Activate Mythos ability (if in set-up step 14, discard any rumor cards drawn)
-If Headline: Resolve and discard
-If Environment: Remains in play or replaces existing environment card (old
environment card discarded)
-If Rumor:
a. if performing set-up step 14, discard
b. if another rumor card is in play resolve other just drawn card effects (gates,
monster movement, clues) then discard
c. keep in play until pass/fail resolved then discard

End of Turn: Pass first player marker left

Note: All discards are face down to respective decks and location cards are shuffled
before drawn

If any of these statements are incorrect, please let me know. (I discarded the first paragraph under "Monsters in Encounters" [p. 22] as the 2nd paragraph is listed in the latest FAQ). I hope to be trying this game later this week and want to at least be playing it accurately as the other parties have never played this before either.

Question: If an investigator is drawn through a gate during the Mythos Phase, is a monster token still placed? (I would think so, but could not find clarification).

Unfortunately, I am not very computer savvy or I would just post the word doc I created (which is neater than the cut and paste job I did here).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
T.M.

Yes, the monsters are placed regardless of what happens to the investigators.

... and end movement phase for that investigator. If you were delayed, you don't get to continue movement.

The rest looks pretty clean to me. I'm sure there's tons of clarifications possible, but I think you've outlined the general flow of things nicely.

Thanks, I tried to condense it as much as possible without going too in depth just on turn summary.

I added the delayed (end movement phase) to the doc, and uploaded it to the files section. (Who knew it was so easy! Hahahaha)

Thanks again,
