What company's counters bring you the most pleasure to clip?

For me, it's the SPI ones, which are thin enough to be
almost effortless, and definitely showed an improvement/
value gained.

Add to that the matte finish (so rare - I don't know of anything
else with that elegance), and the tactile and visual advantages
outstrip everything else for me.

Conflict of Heroes: Storms of Steel! – Kursk 1943 comes with perfectly rounded counters;
they just pop out clean.
How come it is not the norm?
Is it more expensive to produce?
Or clipping addicts prefer the other way?

Wow, I miss the matte-finish SPI counters...no glare!

Yes, the die blades are more expensive. In additional, more sheet stock is necessary to produce the same number/size of counters also an additional cost.

Man, I loved clipping the counters for World in Flames. They give very satisfying nubs, the counters look vastly better, and it's not like you'll run out of counters to clip too quickly!

My second choice is AWE counters - but they are so thin that they're
not quite as satisfying.

There are people who say the same about wargaming in general.

counter-clippers are just at a higher plane.

I don't know what you have to say, it makes no difference anyway: whatever it is, I'm against it!

Yet another reason to love The Killing Ground. The counters in that are very reminiscent of SPI (at least those SPI games I've played).

My LEAST favorite (was going to do another thread on this )
were the West End/TSR ultra glossy, not very pretty, SIDE MOUNTED
pieces of garbage.

Although I like The Gamer's counters overall, they are a bitch to clip.

GMT's; generally evenly die-cut from high quality material, so they cut crisply.

Well.. I'm fighting hard for this to be the norm. Of course it will probably work only with large counters.

I have asked GMT specifically to publish my first game with these rounded counters, BTW. I am sure there will be more coming.

Oh come ON!

This is a HOBBY, so it doesn't count. But watching Star Strek re-runs does, I guess.

Hobby: An activity or interest pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged in primarily for pleasure.

P.S: Please no easy sexual jokes! LOL!

Sorry not possible: the clippings are much too coarse to pass through an I.V. needle.
