Noticed that Hero is rated a 2.5 on VPG's own scale. We Must Tell the Emperor, which I am playing right now, is rated as a 4.0. For anyone who has played both, does that seem correct? Is Hero that much simpler than WMTtE (which doesn't feel all that complex to me)? It looks like a interesting game, but I'm just curious.

Personally, I'd rate HoW a 3.0 - the game is still in the low-end of the complexity scale, so figuring out how all its moving parts interact is where the learning curve is.

VPG is very good at making their games accessible and in providing helpful reminders throughout, so just like WMTtE once you gain some exposure and play experience, HoW is a breeze to play.

I found HOW to be a little confusing the first time I played but I think that was mostly because I didn't read the rules closely enough and made some assumptions about game play. After a reading the rules a second time and playing the game again, I feel like "I get it" now and game play is smooth.

I agree with Steve's assessment and comments regarding HOW complexity.
