Not sure if this has been posted already, but to see something interesting, check out the movie Gremlins. If you watch the final department store battle, just after Gizmo gets into the Barbie sports car you'll see some interesting product placement at the end of one of the aisles he drives past.

Enjoy!!

Not product placement in this case most likely. Merely what the prop people have on hand sometimes. And some directors have a particular toy or game that they slip into their movies whenever possible.

Product placement is when a name brand is in the movie and the camera pans over or in older movies, lingers on that product.

Games get cameos in movies and TV series quite often, as do toys. Theres a Geeklist with many of these listed. There is also a movie out called Escape from Atlantis. No relation to the game though.

Probably a movie set. But makes you wonder if they used an actual department store that happened to have those games on the shelves.

Hi Matt,

Interesting video clip.

'Gremlins' was a 1984 movie and Parkers Brothers 'Survive!' (as depicted in your clip) was launched in the USA Xmas 1982. So I'm not surprised to see the game on the department store shelves as 'Survive!' was a best seller and was stocked in numerous outlets. To my knowledge, not a product placement.Do you know what store this clip was shot in?

It may have been something selected on purpose as an item that looks like it belongs in a department store and yet its wording "Survive" subtly augments the action of the movie where people were trying to "survive" the gremlins.
