Here's the situation: Orks with a total attack value of 7 want to attack Imperial forces with a total defence of 10. Which is a ratio of about 1:1.4

So which column in the CRT should be used? Is it 1:1 or 1:2?

The rules say something about 'rounding down', but there are no examples of how to 'round' when the attack value is lower than defence.

IIRC, there's an example of 29 attack vs 5 defense and it is resolved from the 5-1 column (even mentioning that one more attack would've moved it to 6-1), I'd say go with full increments. So anything less than 10 attack (or 5-9 attack) is 1-2 column.

you always round down in favor of the defender, which translates in rounding up to 1:2 if attacking at lower than 1-1.

Hi,

Don't know if anyone still watching this thread, anyway.

Where does it say that?

Just got this game and played and this same issue came up but we resolved it as unless either side was double or more = 2:1, or triple or more = 3:1 etc then it was always 1:1.

eg;
Attacker 10 vs Defender 1 = 10:1
Attacker 10 vs Defender 2 = 5:1
Attacker 10 vs Defender 3 = 3:1
Attacker 10 vs Defender 4 = 2:1
Attacker 10 vs Defender 5 = 2:1
Attacker 10 vs Defender 6-10 = 1:1

But once the DEFENDER goes 11 or over he is more than 1:1 but NOT double until defence = 20! So will it be 1:1 until his defence is 20; does seem unfair, BUT...

By your explanation it goes;
A 10 vs D 6-9 = 1:2
But then when defender gets to 10 its back to 1:1!!!!

So is it if the defender is more than the attacker it is 1:2 until the defender gets to more than double then it is 1:3 until more than quadrouple, 1:4 etc?

HELP! wow

Also, as stated in another thread, the DW and DR results are definitely back to front shake

Not sure how much it'll come into play TBH. I mean, you should never be attacking with 1-2 or 1-3 odds, 1-1 you can at least get a hive on an exchange result.

Rules explicitly state to round any fractions down. No specification in regards to the attacker or the defender. I'd say the fraction gets rounded down, leaving a 1:1 ratio.
