So this came up during a game...

We are fighting Narly, with lots of monster draws coming up.

We eventually came to the conclusion, that we should just throw every possible monster onto the same adventure card (the loading dock), and basically hang a "do not enter" sign on it. The exceptions of course being having to sill up the white monster spaces on adventures first, and making sure things like monsters that locked dice didn't end up on the unwinnable adventure. The loading dock ended up with something like 7-10 monsters chilling out a the bottom, and we were free to roam the rest of the adventure cards mostly unhindered.

We checked the rules but didn't find anything that seemed to discourage a "dumping ground" tactic, did we miss anything?

This is a constant question. Basically there is nothing in the rules that prevents that, but most people seem to start placing the monsters as evenly as possible. So start off with one on each card, then two, then three ect.

Revised printing of the rules states:
Quote:
Note: Players must distribute monster markers as evenly as possible. That is, no Adventure or Other World card can have a second monster placed below it until all Adventure or Other World cards have at least one monster placed below them.
