I've had time on my hands and I've tried to note where everything on my wishlist is made. I've been stumped on a few though, so I'm asking for your help!

Asmodee (I guess Germany, but I'm wondering about Cyclades and Ghost Stories)

Treefrog

Whoever makes the Bakelite (colored or carbon) version of Hive.

Stronghold Games

Thanks!

What does it really matter where a game is made at? Just curious.

I understand having a lot of time on your hands. I don't have any ideas beyond the company websites, or maybe finding a picture of the back of the box for the "Made in ???" text.

This thread initially came off as one of those "Are there any games made in the USA because I'm super patriotic and want to support only the USA" type of things, but it looks like it's more just plain boredom. Carry on.

Well, Treefrog is British-based, not sure. Same with Gen Four Two.

Asmodee is French, probably German-made.

Stronghold... no idea.

I know a little and can guess a little, but I'd just like confirmation from somebody with a box without cluttering up the individual game pages with "where is this made?" threads.

Hey,

Asmodée, in some cases, get the international edition (from Matagot Cyclades) and from Repos (Ghost Stories) to distribute in the US. Most of these games are made in China. In some cases (like Fórmula D) , the cardboard is made in German and the plastic pieces are China-made.

Some companies go for a higher price tag but go fully-german (like Kosmos) but most US based manufacturers go for the China route.

Just a hint, every game has pics from the back cover, you can take a look there for some additional input.

Hive: Regular (non-Carbon) bakelite.
Gen Four Two and SmartZone edition, 2007
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgameversion/23853/bakelite...

Box clearly says "Made In China"

Multiple publishers have done bakelite editions of Hive. Some may not be Chinese made.
