This is the 19th Fury of Dracula PBF game continuing the series started by Andy Clautice (wood4sheep).

The game will follow a similar pattern to those that have already run or are running. To get an idea of how this goes I suggest having a look at some of the previous games, particularly #1, which provides the template, also #8,#11,#12 & #17 which I moderated. Essentially the players in order will post in the thread what they wish to do on their turns and I will adjudicate sending details of the turn results and distributing cards drawn.

A few comments.

All dice rolling will be done by me using the BGG randomiser, except in situations when it is known that the roll may not be interfered with by others in which case players are free to roll their own dice. I will also provide images of the map situation at least once per round, usually immediately before Dracula's turn.

All orders should be posted in bold text.

To speed the flow of the game, it can be useful if players submit orders for what they will do in advance, which may be consitional on other things occurring, these are referred to as COs and are particularly useful when you know what you will do on your turn or when you have cards which are played out of turn in response to game situations which may occur. COs may be submitted either secretly by GM to me, or openly by posting in the thread in Bold text.I will consider any submitted CO as void in response to any change in the game state such as information received about Dracula's trail. Note submission of COs is optional.

There are a number of situations in the game where the rules are unclear (or at least disputed). In cases which have arisen before, please see this wiki page. Other cases will be dealt with if and when they arise.

I am about to send out invitations to the following:

redshark92
Caimion
MilesF
Eruantalon
Pedrator
Hannibal Rex (alternate)

Accepting!

Thanks for running another game, DaveD. Looking forward to my first PBF (consequently I'd prefer one of the easier hunters, I'm thinking The Good Doctor or Van Helsing if they're available when my turn to pick comes up).

Edit: For clarity and to move things along in case I can't check in, consider this a CO to pick in this order: Seward, VH, LG, Mina, Dracula

Let's wait for rolls, although I strongly prefer to play The Count,so I can bring your worst nightmares true ; >

In case I didn't get to play Dracula, my preferences are:

2nd - Beautiful Mina Harker
3th - Man of science - Dr. Seward
4th - Rich and Strong Lord Artur
5th - Old and REALLY educated Van Helsing M.D., D.Ph., D.Litt., etc

Heya there!

I too am in and prefer to play Dracula, thanks DaveD.

In case I shouldn't get drawn to play as Dracula I will offer my seat to another more experienced player, since I feel that it is a most fruitful and exciting game for players that are of the same level of experience, and since I'm not as experienced as some of the present players, I'd prefer to stay out of this one!

Thanks for your understanding all! And wish a good game!

I've received no reply from MilesF, who I had noticed had expressed a preference for an Asia/Pacific timezone game, but to be honest I'm not sure that there is a sufficient pool of players to support specific timezone games.

So I'll install Klaus as the fifth player and generate the order of player choice (D100 and highest picks first)

Pedrator 1d100 = (94) = 94
Eruantalon 1d100 = (89) = 89
redshark92 1d100 = (78) = 78
Hannibal Rex 1d100 = (58) = 58
Caimion 1d100 = (49) = 49

Based on the prefernces expressed further up the thread, this seems to give.

Pedrator - Dracula
Eruantalon - Mina
redshark92 - Van Helsing

Klaus, that makes you to choose between Doctor Seward and Lord Godalming

I'll start in Galatz.

Drawing events on the first turn is always debated, but I'll note that the most recent PBF was yet another example of seeing an early Newspaper Reports go unused...

Yet another time Mina has to face nightmare that almost made her to pay with her immortal soul. Rumors turned out to be true - The Undead Count has risen from the grave and is trying to bring misery and darkness to Europe once again. Yet armed with Reason and Courage, we have little to fear, as this relic of superstitions and obscurantism shall perish one more time, this time once and for all

Unless any Hunter disagrees, Mina will begin her hunt in London, as she can arm quickly, therefore will be as little penaltised as posiible for taking sea journey.

I would recommend NOT to draw events 'till Dracula makes his first move (and acctually "moves")

If you're going to cover England, why not take Plymouth or Swansea as a starting location? We're not going to check the small cities at first, so it makes sense to start there, and deny them to Dracula as possible picks.

Hmm, that leaves either Central Europe or Iberia for me.

Unless Van Helsing prefers to start in Iberia, I will start in MadridGranada.

Edit: Saw the point about starting in small cities; makes sense to me!

And I'm more than happy to forego item event draws for the first round. I think we can start on the second though, because even if he hid at least that information is useful.

We just need Joe to select a start for the Professor, then the Count can select his position, I've already sent his starting encounters.

Looks like we have the islands, the east and the west covered, so I'll go central, into Zurich.

I'm OK with holding off on Events for the first move - after that not so sure - holding off for too long is dangerous, though, even if the Count doesn't "move" on his first turn.

That's all the hunter picks. When Dracula has chosen he should post that he's done that and let me know his actual location. Then the board will look like this and the hunter's can start their moves.

OK, the game is afoot

The Count has selected his starting location and I have CO for the first 2 hunters.

Lord Godalming moves to Constanta
Dr. Seward moves to Cadiz.

Neither finds any trace of their foe and they each draw an item.

1 - Day 1, Dawn - VanHelsing
