LYCANTHROPE All/Intermediate.Optional

Exchanges Moons

You have the power of Lunar Change. Before landing on a moon, draw another moon, look at it, and place it face down beneath the moon you are to occupy. On any subsequent encounter, while you occupy the moon, you may use this power to discard the moon you are on to occupy and activate the one underneath. Draw another moon to place underneath to repeat this process. When you vacate a moon, you may use this power to discard the moon you are on and have the underneath moon remain, unrevealed, or otherwise landed on by another player. If you lose this power card discard all moons beneath the moons you occupy.

History: Exploitation is the key to domination. However, the failures of others is that they take what they can and leave a barren wasteland. The Lycanthropes instead fertilize their foundations to exploit the new and diverse crops that develop.

Use Only In A Game With Moons

FLARE

Regroup
Wild: You may replace the moons in your system with ones taken at random from those not in use. Ships currently on those moons return to colonies and new moons are placed face down. Give this card to Lycanthrope if in the game; otherwise, discard it.

All
Super: Before landing on a moon, after looking at both moons, you may land on the drawn moon first and place the original moon underneath.

Commentary: This is a Moon power from Matt Stone's set. Yet another Moon power, this one I believe to be the weakest of them, but it is not a weak power on its own. Bad Moons become replaced with good ones. In addition, when Lycanthrope lands on a very cool moon and reaps its benefit, he can change it to prevent anyone else from getting it. Gateway Moon is a good example. When Lycanthrope flips Moons, the new Moon takes effect as if Lycanthrope had just landed on it. A Cosmic Zap to Lyncathrope when he flips Moons causes the Moon that was to become the new Moon to be discarded. Lycanthrope would place a new Moon underneath when his power returns.

Keep in mind that in Matt Stone’s set they always play with moons. They really like moons and regularly use an encounter or two to occupy them. There are also some home made moons. Moon powers have worth in these games.

There should be a Word Games Subdomain, or at least a Word Games Forum!

Not bad for a moon power. It has a lot of control over what moon effects it is subject to, and which ones are in the game that other players might have.

It seems to me that if the Lycanthrope loses his power, all the underneath moons should stay in place, and simply can't be used and don't have any effect until he regains his power. If Changeling swaps with Lycanthrope, there will already be some underneath moons in place for the new Lycanthrope.
