The gaming landscape over at FB is pretty much a huge landfill when it comes to looking for something that's actually interesting to play, especially for those of us who need more in our gaming experience than the "click... click.... click...." strategy that is all that is required in most of FB's games.

Yeah, most of the "classics" are there, repeatedly, such as chess, checkers, risk, poker, backgammon, etc. But what about the "hobby" games?

Well, I found a few that might be worth your time if you're on FB:

Lost Cities Solo by Reiner Knizia
http://apps.facebook.com/lost-cities-solo/

Title pretty much explains it - a solitaire implementation of Lost Cities:

Carcassonne
http://apps.facebook.com/carcasson/

Quite obviously not an "officially licensed product," (probably most given away by the hand-drawn tiles) but it works well enough if you're interested in getting in a round with one of your FB friends.

Take It Easy
http://apps.facebook.com/take-it-easy/

Probably the only official FB implementation of a full board game that I'm aware of, Take It Easy is a tile placement game where you're trying to line up "pipes" of different values together on a hex board in order to complete the highest scoring pipes as possible. The FB version has an interesting "social" aspect where if your friends are playing you can play up to the edge of their board and continue on.

Push
http://apps.facebook.com/pushgame/

This one is a straight knock-off of Abalone. Except with "cute" graphics and animation. Might be worth a try if you're a fan.

Pickomino by Reiner Knizia
http://apps.facebook.com/pickomino/

This one is a pretty neat "push your luck" dice game where you're trying to roll as high as possible, but on each roll you can't use a number you picked earlier (all 5s, all 3s, etc) and you must roll and keep the special "dragon" side of the dice in order to be able to lock in and use your saved dice.

Poseidon's Realm by Reiner Knizia
http://apps.facebook.com/poseidonsrealm/

Actually not that great of a game, but I thought I'd include it just because it's got Reiner's name on it. Basically another variation of the endless variety of "match 3" games, this one's slightly different in that "gems" (or bubbles, in the case) go up instead of falling down, and you can rotate the board.

CLASH: Rise of Heroes
http://apps.facebook.com/playclash/

The only "CCG" style game on FB that I've tried that I've actually found to be fun, this superhero-themed game lets you select from several different types of superpowers, and then lets you custom build a deck containing abilities and allies for that hero (and allows you to create different types of heroes over time as well that you can use in different situations if you'd like). Actually plays pretty close to how I would imagine this type of game would be played if layed out on a table, and has story scenarios to work through to advance your character and get more powerful cards.

and last but not least:
Mystic Card Battle
http://apps.facebook.com/mysticfb/

Mystic Card Battle is a fantasy re-theme of a highly addictive card game out of Korea called Go-Stop.
Although primarily a card-matching game, the number of match variations and combination rules allow so much variety that the game always keeps you on your toes.

Yep, that's pretty much it - the FB selection is still pretty slim, but if you've run into anything else worthy of mentioning go ahead and post it...
