Euro MSRP: 36.99 euro
US MSRP: 49,99$ US

Really don't know what price it will be in Essen but it should be around that.

Only have the proto with me, but the box sizes should be same as the copy we had at GenCon (Dice Town size).

The press release I read today was that it will be available to play at Essen but not purchase.

On one hand we have an Asmodee employee here telling us the Essen price of Takenoko is unclear and a "maybe official" press release telling us it won't be at Essen for purchase. So no questions left open ...

I just don't see a logic behind the press release. If a game is ready to be sold, why would anyone refrain from doing so? Who'd pass on an opportunity like that, at the world's biggest boardgame convention there is?

I hope noone reads any anger in my words, because there's none. I just don't get the thinking behind that press release.

Well ... considering what happend to the Container of Claustrophobia - De Profundis, maybe some giant Panda sat on the Takenoko container and then ate it. devil

My understanding is Asmodee distributes the game elsewhere (maybe in Germany, IDK) but the initial publication is done by Matagot, so Stefan knew the price, but Matagot decided to hold the game to allow brick-and-mortar stores to have it at the same time as everyone else. I think that decision is/was out of Stefan's control.

Yeah, it does seem odd not to sell it there...ask Matagot I guess..
