Is it dead? No. Is it on the schedule at this moment? No.

The game just wasn't up to the standards we wanted, so we are reworking it. At the moment, the biggest problem is employee bandwidth, and we are working to solve that issue.

AEG is notorious for their board games. They are never "exactly where they need to be." Art of War is the Prime example as well as TOMB. Card games though, they rock those out no problem. IMHO they treat board games like they did Clan War. They find out it is expensive to produce, lead the interested people on for a while and then ignore or dump it without warning.

The board/table top game realm is a bad issue with me. If it requires more than card board to play AEG has never been able to hold up their end. I have been the guy to rally people to pre-order these games and build a small community only to have AEG drop the ball and have everyone looking to me like I am a douche. My FLGS says it is actually on their order sheet from the distributor, to be delivered in 2013. =/

Except for Ninja, coming out later this year, for starters.

Would you rather we released a board game that wasn't good?

Perhaps you could announce them *only* when they are good

That would be our current approach. And the smarter one.

Inasmuch as there is not a schedule at this time, it is not true.

If we arrange things like I hope, it could hit in late 12. But we'll see.

OH, please make it so. Or I will have to make my own version using the boards from a Japanese crayon Train game.

Should fix the 2 prior games before asking people for more money. Just a thought. Wouldn't take much either, a downloadable pdf rulebook update would make people happy that the money they spent on games, that are literally unplayable without re-writing the rules, wasn't wasted.

But I guess its just easier to ride the 5 rings crowd for their money and see where that goes.

Disgraceful is the only word I can use to describe the way the Tomb series has been handled.

I don't think I am alone either.

It is in development, needing some major overhaulage.

It will not be on any schedule until it is ready.

No, Gen Con 2012 is not a possibility. Games for Gen Con are going on press this month.

Me2. They re-designed the game 3 times. It was ready to hit the printers 1.5 years ago. I mean completely done.

Done and good are two different things. It was done, but it wasn't working.

Tomb is a real mess. Unbalanced, inconsistent and chaotic. But I love it and consider it to be way better than Descent or the other crawlers on the market today. I would buy any expansions to this already great, beautiful and creative game no matter the theme, price or even contents. But a crossover to Rogukan would be the "ideal" game for me. The most I can hope that creators have some idea how to expand Tome and make even more polished.

Actually there is nothing wrong with the tomb rules as they are. Once you understand timing in the game it actually flows quite well. The problem lies in how the rules and timing are explained in the rules.

I personally have two variants I play with my friends and family that make the game harder without changing the rules. Hell my seven year old plays the game with us and even she understands when she can and cannot play cards.

The best way to approach teach this game is to teach it at a level that you would teach a small child something. A flow chart showing when and how along with card examples goes a long way. The way I see the game designed is a free form system with rules for when actions can be taken. Looking at it like that you can adapt the system to almost anything.

As someone who saw the early version of TOI rules and cards I thought it was perfectly fine. Obviously some refining was needed but after they were all scrapped I took those Playtester items and just adapted them for my own personal group and we have had a blast with that game. It's nothing new in the sense of standing apart from the tomb game but it's different enough to be a fun game on its own.

Sounds like you' re stuck in the mud there.

Why not expand the group of playtesters a bit... or a lot.
Expose more people to the "feel" of the game somehow. Listen to their feedback and reaction. See what they can come up with.
Fresh ideas, objections, suggestions... etc.
I see plenty of people showing their interest.

Don't know, it's just pity to "seal the tomb" and just forget about it.

Time to check the pulse on this again. Has the Tempest suite of games put this permanently on the backburner?
