can anyone recommend a game that is geared towards a larger group? we love expanded cataan and zombies! but haven't really found anything else. We especially love games like Battlestar; Gallatica where you can screw over the other players if you so choose. thanks in advance for any input.

Imperial is an excellent choice for six players. Its an economic game, but plays like a wargame (thats where the screwage comes in).

El Grande works for up to 5 (expansions may allow a 6th - I am not sure.). It is not unusual for every player to get screwed more than once in every turn.

We're this many posts into this thread, and no one has mentioned The Resistance?!

Fantastic game, takes the 'are you a cylon' (i.e. "the fun bit") from BSG, and makes that the center of the game. Hidden roles, plays 5-10. My favorite game.

Dune is another winner.
Hot Potato if you're looking for something more along the 'party' flavor. Quick, fun, screw your opponent type game.

Shadows over Camelot

This plays up to 7, and with a traitor it is a screw the other players sort of game.

Shadow Hunters is great for 5-9 players. Everyone is secretly assigned a random character to start. There is a Shadow team, a Hunter team, and several neutral characters with varying different win conditions. It's a very social game, and you can always mess with people while everyone is trying to figure out whose side everyone else is on. The game rules say up to 8 players, but we had no problem at all playing with 9 players. I wouldn't want to play with less than 5, though.

Haven't played it yet but I'm excited for Dungeon Run for that very reason! It sounds like it will become the kind of game the players want it to be (on the level of co-op vs screwage).
It is a lighter dungeon crawl with the options to sabotage and/or attack your fellow players throughout the game (and eventually forced to at the end of the game in order to win).

Suddenly a shot rang out! A door slammed. The maid screamed. Suddenly a pirate ship appeared on the horizon! While millions of people were starving, the king lived in luxury. Meanwhile, on a small farm in Kansas, a boy was growing up.

Drakon (third edition), totally. Best with 4-6 and a game all about making life difficult on your opponents.

Best criteria-matching response so far! It's one of the few games where screwing someone over is both welcome and fun. No hard feelings at the end of this. Just swimming for your life with a shark sneaking up behind you.

Wiz War.

It particularly shines with 5+ players, because one of the players will end up having to bushwhack another player to get his treasure!

And don't worry that the soon-to-be-released base set supports only four players. Just copy and mount two boards for two more players, or, better yet, find some PnP boards and the unreleased board (?) on the internet.

Cosmic Encounter and Nuclear War ("beer and pretzels") are also good "screw you" games!
