Here is a small variant to the rules regarding the movment of monsters. Might stop players putting all monsters on one card! Have not tried this yet : have a few variants for extra difficulty, but finding the game hard enough already!

Monster Movement Rule
In Arkham Horror, a mythos card is drawn each round. A card has symbols on it which indicate which monsters move. This is a variant for Elder Sign to do something similar.

At Midnight, roll a green die. Move one card, anti-clockwise, any monsters which have a symbol on their task matching the die rolled. Only move monsters which are not attached to a card by a monster space (that is, only monsters which are attached to the bottom of a card).

Try it - let me know if it works....

How about

"Roll a green die. Monsters containing the rolled symbol within their task move to either the nearest Adventure containing the same symbol, or to the closest Adventure with an Investigator. Monsters filling monster tasks do not move."
