Good article on Chessbase:

Kasparov in Clichy

Quote:
It might seem like overkill to some, but when one of the greatest players of all time (the greatest in some opinions) comes out to play a couple of games, especially against a top talent rated over 2700 it is news. Even if they were two blitz games. Add to that he won the first game, and was winning up to the last postion in the second, and one realizes that he wasn't just there for the show, he was out for blood.

Never count out the Beast from Baku.

It was quite impressive that Kasparov was close to a 2-0 against Vachier-Lagrave, the actual Frensh champion. He retained his fighting spirit quite well.

I like how IM Andrew Martin narrated those accompanying vids. His point about how Kasparov should do more of these chess spectacles for the good of chess was spot on. Kasparov is one of those charismatic guys that the media is attracted to regardless of the country. I would love for him to agree to another chess match in NYC once the "Freedom Tower" is constructed.
