Hi,

I would like to add to my collection but I'm not sure what to get.
I don't really like war games or space themes, but anything else I'm open to.
My preferences tend toward:
Worker Placement mechanics
Variable Player mechanics
Deeper, thinking games
Strategy games

A few games I have and love to play:
Dominant Species
Caylus
Puerto Rico
Le Havre
Pandemic
Tigris & Euphrates

Anything similar (or not) that you feel might be interesting, I'd love some suggestions. Please feel free to view my profile for the rest of the games I own.
Thanks in advance!
Karen.

Brass: Lancashire - because it's awesome.

Troyes - worker placement with dice. I've read good things.

Urban Sprawl - latest game from the designer of Dominant Species. Ships soon.

7 Wonders - lots of fun and plays pretty quickly, even with a lot of players.

In the Year of the Dragon - again, because it's awesome.

Mr. Jack - a great 2P deduction game.

Hopefully some of the above is helpful!

I'd recommend Leonardo da Vinci, which uses a sort of worker placement mechanic but every player can place workers on the spaces. Whoever places the most worker gets the priviledge for free while other players who use the spot have to pay.

I'd also recommend Louis XIV, where you place workers onto nobles to inflence them. There's also a level of resource management to make sure your workers are available when you need them (otherwise you have to use actions getting them back from the general supply).

There are some good reviews of both games that will give you a better idea than I can convey here.

Wow. Two dozen versions of Monopoly! That must be some kind of record!!

I notice you have Power Grid in your owned and played list, but it doesn't appear here.

There are half a dozen new maps available: twelve different games.

All of them bring something unique to the game and all of them are fun!!!

Working through the night Jeff fixed the broken link. After being fixed the broken link became Jeff's BGG profile.

Two games you own and haven't rated, Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization and Saint Petersburg, seem like good choices. Play those if you haven't...

Then Steam.

Yeah, I just got St. Petersburg and haven't played it yet, and TTA I just haven't been able to figure out for some reason. But I'm not giving up! Thank you for the suggestion of Steam - I'll check it out!

I collect international Monopoly sets, and have amassed a few other American versions as well. There are actually more that aren't list options on BGG.
I just got two Power Grid expansions yesterday, the China and France boards. I do like Power Grid and am looking forward to having some time in the near future to open them up. Thank you for writing!

[/q]I've been looking at Troyes, will probably get as I've read good things too. Thanks for the heads up about Urban Sprawl - Dominant Species is absolutely one of my favorites, can't wait! Thank you!

It maybe time to look into card mechanics: Illuminati: Deluxe Edition, Dominion, Citadels, 51st State...

You have some Cutthroat Caverns going on... I envy you.

You can add them. Doing so helps the community and scores a few GG at the same time.

Because of you, I just pre-ordered Urban Sprawl for $21 off the purchase price on the GMTGames.com site. Wouldn't have know about it if not for your suggestion - thank you so much!
