Similar here. Buying presents for a random person effectively takes away presents from my kids so I'm out.

It's not for everyone, but last years event was a lot of fun.

Yep. Love the Idea. I participate in a spring Secret Santa every year. As well as the occasional summer one. Just Christmas is tight.

If you were going to give games as a gift to your kids, you could take a chance and put a bunch of them in your wishlist and put a blurb in your note to Santa that you'd prefer children's games.

So I was priming this mini, getting ready to paint a dwarf cleric, and I noticed something. I get that dorfs aren't generally thought of as "forward-thinking", but this just seemed wrong to me...

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Do I cut it in half and re-attach the torso correctly? Or just paint it like this and see who notices?
Before you ask how much I was drinking before I started on the model, it came preassembled!

Leave it. The dwarf cleric would be a perfect rear guard. Continue walking forward but fight whatever is behind the party.

Speaking of dice, I think this may be the coolest d20 ever made:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/goatdice/goat-dice-chan...

Single die deliveries are already out to Summer 2022, but I got one of the spots for a 5x pack for next summer. Anyone wanna go in on a group pledge?

Note I'm intentionally asking it here instead of the regular Twin Cities for sale thread since I wanted TCAT to have first dibs.

There are more thrifts in Goodwill and Value Village than are dreamt of in your philosophies, Horatio.

Very cool. And man, did that blow up in a hurry!
Not for me, though I look forward to fondling someone else’s dice at COTN.

` For those of you that have money to invest:

Summary
Overall, we think that Games Workshop is a good business thanks to its economic moat and growth opportunities in a self-created niche-market. The valuation of the share is making us a bit "uncomfortable" at the moment. Therefore, we would bury this stock on our watch list and wait patiently for pullbacks.

We do like the company's management team, which focuses on the long term and return on investment. In our view, this name can be a right candidate for quality stocks that can grow shareholder wealth tremendously as long as the price is right.

Random tangent, but the Mini Painter's Guild is doing a Halloween Contest, where you either paint a monstrous mini, or you "costume paint" a mini into something else.

So, I've found my Roblin, and now I need to find a Batman. Preferably an Orc...

Here you go, the poll will be open until Oct. 25th.

Poll
The next TCAT day will take place in early December. Which day would you prefer?

A little different this time. To wrap up the end of the year, it will be at FFG and no theme...just bring your favorite AT game and have a dice rollin' and mini pushin' good time!

December 7th

December 14th

I voted December 7 just because we've been throwing around December 14 for the Twin Cities Secret Santa date. But I'm free for both dates.

Combining may improve attendance for both?

I did think about that as well, but wasn't sure if people not participating in the SS would want to go to an event empty handed.

All right, my Robin (roblin) found his Batman (batorc)...

Unfortunately, Batorc couldn't find his cape, but that's just a minor detail.

The Plaza Theater in Maplewood will be showing Star Trek: Wrath of Khan on Thursday Nov. 21st. It's a few weeks away, but wondering if anyone is interested in meeting up for it.

Woodbury Theatre is showing Star Trek 1 tomorrow, and Star Trek 2 Wednesday evening.
