How to counter them? They can block anything and, since they are cheap to summon and there are 7 in the deck, there is no way to "avoid" them blocking two units of yours and slowly kill them while you do nothing. And if you manage to go around them, guess what? One or two more come in play on the very next turn.

- kill one of your stunned units to make a line of fire. - i do that a lot when in need .
- Use Champions

The rest real depends on your faction.

Tell me your favorite faction and i will look up some way to counter them.
(the first time i saw a deceiver i beleived it to be perfect on paper, not so good on the board - they are very usefull, but not Overpowered)

"slowly kill them while you do nothing" - why slowly killing? when i stun 2 or (when lucky) 3 units...my deceiver is parked there for a LOOONG time.

1. Use a Champion or a Summoner.

2. Kill your Stunned guy. You still get magic for it.

3. Free your stunned guy. They can't move, but you can still use Muster, Fall Back, Ensnare, Gem of Calling, Gem Magic, Blaze Step, Sly, Cunning, etc. (Switching/placing are not "movement)"

4. Go around.

5. Destroy one of their walls.
