2 player game with Escape from Dol Guldur

What happens if my 2 heroes died already (3. is the prisoner) but my partner can continue the game?

Am I considered as "eliminated from the game"?

Rule book says, I'm eliminated from the game if all of my heroes are killed. But it is not true, the prisoner still alive. So my partner can rescue my prisoner to bring me back into the game?

What happens with the monsters with whom I am engaged?

If I'm not eliminated, do I draw cards?

How many encounter cards will come in the encounter phase?

That's all

you are not eliminated

enemies stay engaged

you draw cards normally

2 encounters since it is a 2 player game

pray that your companion draws many sentinels

But if the enemies stay engaged, what do they attack?
I cannot defend, and I don't have hero to put the damage on.
Why do the other need sentinel?

nm .... totally forgot that the prisoner takes no damage

the enemies still attack, resolve shadow effect, but just no damage is taken

unless another player uses a sentinel the attack is considered undefended, which likely doesnt matter much

It's more likely that this quest is intended to modify the player elimination rules. If you have no heroes in play, you're eliminated.

What you're posting is barely supported by the rules, and seems like a lot of hand waving and guessing. With any luck this can be cleared up in FAQ #3.

Official Answer
The answer from Nate on this is:

If a player only controls a captured character, that player is eliminated from the game. We'll have to make an official ruling as to whether or not this constitutes a loss for the players as a whole. My initial reaction is yes, but I need to think on it a little more.

An update to the FAQ is being worked on by FFG so look for an answer to the latter when that comes out. Until then, assume the game isn't auto-lost, so normal elimination stuff happens ... enemies return to staging area, etc.

OP, can you append " - official answer received" to the thread header.

Why not have a rule that says if there aren't any heroes to put undefended damage on it increases your threat instead.

Might allow the player enough time to rescue the prisoner but at a cost.
