I looked through the forums and didn't see anyone mention this.. My board has a little area labelled "Earth #" and then there is a serial number stamped in it. So my Earth is Earth # 00009674... when you go touring through the infinite multiverse, dial me up in your trans-universal traveling machine, and stop in for some tea.

EDIT: Please be careful about spoilers! Don't reveal the effects of packets or cards or stickers not apparent from the start of your first game!

Here's how I imagine these... as a tiled, infinite plane of Earths...

I was wondering what that was, but mine didn't have a serial # printed there.

#00006106 , the most beautiful earth out there

I just picked up the game at my favorite shop and i am more exicted than i think i ever had been with any game before. I really never liked Risk, but i want to see what happens to our earth.

The serial number is stamped on the bottom of the world map and it is not that easy to spot. Check it again (At least in the german version from "Heidelberger Spieleverlag")

Hasbro tells us the multiverse is not infinite!

Apparently there are only 100 million possible Earth variations...

I'm curious how many groups interpret the lead-in story as:

1) Genesis Torpedo, or "planet-building technology that lets us craft new Earths"

2) Trans-universe travel (like in "The One"), where we can colonize Earths where humans never existed

I tend to find #2 more interesting.

I was thinking of something like in Sliders... Humans exist, but the history of the world is radically different.

Look very carefully. Mine is there, but without any ink in the numbers, just the stamped impressions of letter blocks (as if impacted by an old-fashioned printing press without ink).

You might just have something there. Touch the spot after the "Earth # text. Or rub some graphite over it... it might reveal numbers.

Lay a piece of paper on top of that part of the board, and then scribble on the paper.

Mine's Earth #1998. Just started it last night. South America and Africa are not really fun to play in anymore after that game.

That was just the first game, too. I have no clue what's in store in the future.

If it weren't due to my friend trying to get a quick victory point right out of the gate, South America and Africa wouldn't be the wasteland that they currently are.

We spent a fair chunk of the night speculating. We all agreed that creating new connections between continents seems to be a high possibility (for the record, I have ZERO CLUE if this is true or not; it's pure speculation on the part of my game group).

As of Dec. 12, 2011, Earth #00008907 is virgin and waiting to be soiled.

Update: On Dec. 29, 2011, three games were played. Three major cities and nine minor cities founded...one packet opened.

9697 just got really weird... we are down the rabbit hole, nobody of us has done anything like that before, whatever you thought you knew about the world, think again.
12 games in, next one tomorrow.
Can't wait.

But: only ONE (1) packet unopened. Alas! for those glorious days of innocence and youth!

Earth #00007553 has seen the light. Unfortunately it hasn't seen any colonists arrive, and it won't untill somewhere in January (or even February) next year as I won't be able to gather everyone who cashed in to play a game before our exams start...
